Aff Marketing Side Quest
35 days ago I started to seriously play around in the aff space (still running our own eCom, so it was just a side thing).
Team was literally for the most part myself and my right-hand person (we had some help from our creative team but not too much).
Feels like I still got it as a media buyer myself.
What we have done:
- Heavy manual media buying
- Heavy, heavy, heavy ADV/funnel testing/copywriting
- Nearly 100% static images/slideshow
What we have been running:
- All WH only (no Casino, Dating or whatever, I don't even know how to run that)
- eCom offers (mostly bigger brands where I know the owner personally with a CPA deal)
- CPL offers (insurances, loans)
- Digital CPA offers (digistore shit)
I still have absolutely no idea what we are doing here. We have no biz dev, no media buyers besides me, no devs, so please don't ask me in DMs how to get started with it. I don't even know!
The only reason I think it worked out OK for us is because the only thing we are good at is running ads and landing pages/advertorials, everything else we suck at. So by finding a biz model that only focuses on that, it somehow worked out.
Take it as inspiration: if you are doing something right now that isn't working out, maybe you are just in the wrong biz model. Check what your actual skills are and go all in on them.

there's a huge ban wave happening in Meta rn. Here's how to keep yourself safe without giving access to scammers (I know ball):
- A lot of shillers will try to sell you "profile unbans", when in reality, they just contact Meta support from a diff profile and ask for an unban. There's no other way to unban a profile. Try it for yourself, sometimes work, sometimes doesn't.
- If you care about your main profile don't use it for media buying as it's a matter of time till it'll get caught in one of these waves, unfortunately.
- That being said, buying a profile is also very risky. A lot of the Vietnamese/Russian sellers out there keep a backdoor to purchased profiles. They just save the cookies - so even if you change your email & password they might still have access. If you buy, buy from a TRUSTED source
- In your BMs make sure to have at least 4-5 profiles that you have full access to & hold diff assets (one holds the pixel, one holds the page, one is the BM admin, one just does the media buying etc). That way if something gets banned (and it will), the whole structure won't collapse.
I repeat - DO NOT buy ANY assets from shady Vietnamese/Russsian/whatever sources because they WILL get you hacked and scammed.

@Meta I’m a brand owner and I have spent over a year building my brand and scaling my business. I spend over $1,000,000 a month on Meta ads. Like a lot of others I was recently banned on my facebook profile for no apparent reason. My profile (which was never used personally, but only ever to access my business manager) was the only admin on my business manager. I have lost my businesses facebook page, my pixels, and my ad accounts. All pages are still active and my ads are still active. Clearly I have not violated any of the community guidelines, however I was flagged by your AI systems for some reason. This is a huge problem. Meta’s AI system that reviews accounts is awful and unfairly flags profiles for no apparent reason. Once a profile has been flagged it is going to get suspended no matter what… I did the video selfie verification and was still suspended. And the BEST thing about all of this is that once your account is disabled there is absolutely NO way to contact support. Can this please be looked into! It has been over a week where i’ve had ads running on an ad account that I don’t have access too. I have sent countless emails to support for over a week only to receive emailed from people who don’t even know how to spell “This is” (they are likely AI automated emails) and they are absolutely no help at all. Me and pretty much every advertiser on your platform would seriously appreciate if we cut this AI nonsense because it clearly doesn’t work, and implemented some actual human review when it comes to our businesses. @MetaforBusiness @facebook @finkd

The invisible Glass experiment
Scientists once placed a transparent glass barrier inside an aquarium.
On one side was a fierce pike, and on the other side were several smaller fish swimming freely.
When the hungry pike saw the smaller fish, it immediately rushed forward to attack.
Bang. It slammed straight into the glass and bounced back.
Confused, the pike kept trying again and again, but every attempt ended the same way.
The repeated collisions injured its head and knocked off some of its scales. Eventually, the pike became frightened and retreated to a corner of the tank.
After some time, the scientists quietly removed the glass barrier. The smaller fish now swam freely throughout the aquarium, even brushing against the pike’s mouth.
But the pike never tried to eat them again.
Even though it was hungry, it refused to attack. In its mind, the invisible wall was still there.
A few days later, the pike reportedly died of starvation, surrounded by food. This phenomenon is often referred to as the Pike Effect or Pike Syndrome.
It’s often used as a metaphor for how repeated failure can create invisible limits in the mind.
