He sells “tax the rich” like it’s new and targeted. The rich are already heavily taxed, and this just moves the line. Once you accept “we can take more because you have more,” it doesn’t stay confined to the rich. It expands. And after decades of this, if taxing the rich actually made the poor better off, you’d expect clear results by now. What it reliably does is concentrate power and money in the political class and those tied to it. So it’s sold as helping the poor, but in practice it mostly funds the system that manages them.

Family member in 2020: I'm not getting that shot when it comes out. I have never even gotten the flu shot. Him in June 2021: Got the shot today. My state removed the mask mandate for the vax'd. I'm so happy I can now go shopping without wearing a mask, and I don't have to worry about catching or spreading the virus. Me: You can still catch the virus even if you got the shot. Him: They told me I wouldn't get the virus if I got the shot. Me: Who's they? One of my ICU patients today has been fully vax'd and is positive with the virus. Him: I don't believe that. Two weeks later, his state issued a mask mandate again for everyone, even the vax'd. The state's reason? They were seeing a high number of fully vax'd people still getting the virus. Their reason that vax'd people were still getting the virus? They blamed it on the unvax'd. I asked my family member if he was back to wearing a mask again. He didn't respond.

Which is why people taking a true vaccine should not be afraid of the vaccinated because they are protected.

They changed the definition of “vaccine” for Covid because it did not prevent the vaccinated from getting Covid - not a true vaccine.
