I think #LetsGoOilers GM Stan Bowman is going to hold on to the capspace instead of filling a top six spot because it creates even more incentive for the current roster to grab it. No one thought Podkolzin was a top sixer but he busted his ass to earn it.

@pearlosnhlpow @mikebayrak Podkolzin last year was top-90 in Even Strength goals while getting very little PP time. If he was on the PP full-time, he'd have scored around 25 goals total. You're right that Podz on the 3-line behind a better player is ideal but he's only 24 & I'm curious what his peak is

@Gmack_ @WildcatOil The chart was put together by one of the most brilliant minds in Alberta (@dstaples) and might suggest that Podkolzin brings his Podzilla to whatever line he is on…especially in the playoffs if the goal is to win championships

Surprised he got that much. Not because its a lot, but because as a bottom end guy, I might be pulling a Max Jones & taking league minimum to ensure a spot on the roster... pretty crowded down there.

IMO fair deal for both sides. Colton Dach has an opportunity to grow with the @EdmontonOilers Big, not timid, has some skill. Played mostly wing at the NHL level, but has played a lot of center at different levels. Will be an interesting player to watch this season.

Based on how things are going, I’d have no issue offering Savoie $7.5 million annually if I was Stan Bowman.

@TopTierPucks Roslovic outplayed Savoie in the playoffs. Oilers can’t afford to overpay on perimeter players in the playoffs….even if Savoie is the hometown boy.

The amount of people who think $6 or even $7M would be an overpay is straight up delusion. Matt Savoie played like a star after the trade deadline last year. Any AAV in that ballpark would be a discount with the cap skyrocketing
