Real question why are a lot of football fans from the US under the impression that the US faced Turkey's A-team? We benched most of our starters too!

@elysirium Well it seems you guys are having a heat wave. Americans think you should just go and buy ac. You Europeans....is this a rhetorical question?

It's really funny how Americans are totally overobsessed with air conditioning when it's not needed.

@sapphyreblayze @B0ltodinson Well this is what I heard years ago. Haven't fact checked. Buttttt it cost more turning it on and off then just leaving off. I know stupid... lemme check that

@Badgerpawn @Molycuddle Simply sunshades on the outside already drastically reduce the heat inside as well. I also cannot afford to install AC in my house, let alone pay the electric bill after they are up and running. And if my whole neighborhood would get ac, the electrical grid will collapse.

What are you talking about? People are critical of America’s solution to just ‘air condition the heatwave away’ because of the electricity cost and environmental damage mass AC use would entail. Also, Europe has AC, and the places that don’t, didn’t need them 10 years ago

@Badgerpawn @Molycuddle AC doesn't do anything for outdoors for example, but trees, plants etc are all things that will help reduce temperatures and that's an example of things that can be done. Nationalising energy or uncoupling electricity from the price of gas because why are they linked anyway

@Molycuddle I am curious about what other solution you have/heard about. I mean it does get annoying. I'm also tired of seeing stuff like are "Americans are just stupid" all the time. We live different lives and think differently. Also if all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail

@Badgerpawn A few, one of which AC is apart of, but I'm tired of Americans acting like we're somehow stubborn or stupid for not taking their 'oh just get ac teehee' comments well. Like it's a much bigger problem than lack of AC

This is going to be the weirdest match in history. It's a game where the loser is actually the winner. That's right. Both teams desperately want to lose this match because it places them in a better bracket against easier teams to advance. The winner has a very difficult schedule going forward. Note: If you kick the ball into your own goal, it's a point for the other team...

@llanohen I know next to nothing about soccer. And theres a stadium probably 2 miles from my place. Never been. Soccer just isn't big here in the states so lot of us won't get it.

It’s very clear that most Americans don’t understand global soccer culture when they’re like “it’s a meaningless game” the World Cup only happens every 4 years and a lot of teams don’t qualify. A win on the world stage means a lot for a country

Most Americans thought this was going to be an easy win because Turkey was 0-2 and we were 2-0 You could argue the talent profile of Türkiye is equal or marginally better to the United States Always gonna be a very difficult fixture
