Started reading Kalergi’s Pan-Europa. So far, it is a very interesting read, given that his fundamentalist approach to Europe’s geopolitical questions has revealed itself to be largely correct. His definitions of Europe through geographical, cultural, and historical categories are also worth noting.

Is Europe undermilitarised? Yes. that’s because we’ve been effectively pacified and folded into the influence sphere of an offshore great power. Put in metaphorical terms that are easier to understand, we are semi-autonomous imperial provinces. The US brought about this state of affairs via its own martial victories. Nobody alive today, in US or Europe, had any real say in this, and neither ordinary Americans nor ordinary Europeans bear any responsibility for (or meaningful influence over) these arrangements.
