Voters can accept two things at once.
Immigration rose too far and too fast. That has to be corrected, with credible border control and proper enforcement.
But, a modern economy cannot simply switch migration off. Key sectors need targeted skills to grow and create jobs.

The Conservative Party wins as a broad church.
Yes, we lost votes to Reform.
But for every one who went there, 1.3 went to Labour, the Lib Dems, or disengaged altogether.
Rebuilding means offering something to them too - serious, pro-growth, pragmatic politics that can win a majority again.

The reasons I complain about Brexit and call for improvements in EU-UK relations are because: 1. life is happening now. 2. wearing a hair shirt won’t change anyone else’s mind and we don’t need to change their minds. 3. we need to create the burning platform for change so politicians know.

@Prosper_UK_ Some politicians talk about ‘centre ground’, but too many would happily hold any future government hostage over old battles on Europe. Hard to forget how that kind of manoeuvring derailed trust in the first place.

If the Conservatives want to govern again, they must win back the centre ground.
That requires honesty about past mistakes - and a clear, pro-growth offer for the future.

This should have been the UK. We need to work with the EU to rearm at pace but Starmer keeps dragging his feet and changing his mind.
Defence investment needs reliability and a clear sense of direction, not delays and U-turns. Our plan is for defence bonds and to join SAFE.
