@thefleeee But the format is good Rahul! It’s so diverse!

PLEASE SHARE! PRAGUE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
My friend Tobias Niedziella @T_N1202 lost his deck and REALLY needs it back. In case you've seen a blue deck box with a Cramorant sticker, please bring it to the staff members at the hive! He made day 2 and it would be a shame if 1/2

English

@thefleeee @MossAgate230 Wronnggggg imma go play 2010 worlds. There is more to pokemon than the current standard format
English

Rahul I'm not complaining that I'm bricking I'm complaining that pretty much every deck in the format is unfun to play
Rahul Reddy (レッディー ラフ-ル)@thefleeee
Maybe the format isn't horrible, maybe you're horrible. Adapt, improvise, overcome. If you brick, that's just a skill issue. Lock in. フォーマットがクソなんじゃない。お前がクソなんだ。適応し、即興で切り抜け、乗り越えろ。手札事故(ブリック)を起こしたなら、それは単なる実力不足だ。集中しろ。
English

@thefleeee @MossAgate230 I want to play Pokémon so badly, just not THIS version of pokemon
English

@Membrayne1 40 seconds is too slow unfortunately. Gotta click the first button the second the clock turns and get through the next menu in 5 or fewer seconds
English

@OmegaShinku @SPX_Artifactor @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey The case in which it becomes interesting with modern rules is if BOTH players have sableye. Then sableye instructs players to decide who goes first as normal. In this case under modern rules you would likely default back to the decision of whoever won the flip.
English

@SPX_Artifactor @BalakayPokemon @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey read again, sableye doesn't say "flip me if not going first". in both scenarios you set up and flip the coin BEFORE flipping pokemon.
sableye simply checks at the end of setup, when flipped up, "are you going first? no? now you are. There's even a ruling about it!
English

Gust of Wind was a card printed 27 years ago and would be better than a card that is a must have in 100% of standard decks right now

TT | Hunter Smith@Huntiemon
Tapu Lele was a card printed 9 years ago and would be better than a card that is a must have in 90% of standard decks right now
English

@OmegaShinku @SPX_Artifactor @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey I will say, usually back when sableye was legal you would set up, the person without sableye would ask the opp to call heads or tails, and the person with sableye would just announce that they have sableye and flip it over.
English

@SPX_Artifactor @OmegaShinku @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey Really easy fix - just flip and if someone starts sableye you ignore the flip
English

@OmegaShinku @BalakayPokemon @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey before the flip you would reveal the sableye that was already faced down in play before turn order was determined, today turn order would already be determined before setting sableye face down making it miss it's ability timing since turn order can't be retroactively changed.
English

@Espurr_Meow Yall gotta click faster - I’m at 100% success rate on mobile
English

@SPX_Artifactor @OmegaShinku @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey Important to remember mesprit only stopped a subset of what we now have as abilities. Only pokepowers (which, granted, were probably the stronger of the two) not pokebodies.
English

@OmegaShinku @BalakayPokemon @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey Spiritomb would have an errata to say items instead of trainers and isn't as strong in a format that has very easy access to gusting supporters
Going first is way more nerfed now than it used to be
Yeah mesprit would be cracked today
English

@OmegaShinku @SPX_Artifactor @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey And non of them were broken at the time because there was almost no item based pokemon search. The game was much slower because you had to take multiple turns to set up your board with supporters. These cards WOULD be broken if enabled by modern ball search but that didn’t exist
English

@BalakayPokemon @SPX_Artifactor @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey yeah, but for example, imagine spiritomb right now, after seeing how much people have cried about budew.
sableye is an insane card
uxie is one of the most broken draw cards ever after OG prof research.
Mesprit is a one-sided hex maniac usable on T1
and so on.
English

@OmegaShinku @SPX_Artifactor @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey It would’ve been insane in other formats where evolutions had more broken abilities for sure but I wouldn’t say everything was broken at the time. There were just better stadium options and if you wanted to evolve you just used candy or spiritomb.
English

@BalakayPokemon @SPX_Artifactor @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey I am just going to say that while what you say is true, its only so in the context of its time. BTS in any other format would've gotten banned like fogp. 2007-2010 were just that crazy in that everything was so broken it balanced itself
English

@SPX_Artifactor @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey All good! I spent all of lockdown playing 2010 webcam tournaments so I spent too much time with that. Locals were always wild back then and you never knew what ppl would play - I remember going to a battle roads and hitting 3 people playing dusknoir decks haha
English

@BalakayPokemon @TrainersTravel @ChipRichey been looking for a website to help with building for retro formats because my local league has been talking about playing retro formats as alternate format days, I thank you and concede to you, I have overestimated bts because it was used so heavily in my local region and leagues
