Family, horse racing, humor, all things Huskers & Bluejays, music, space geek. Former Ak-sar-ben railbird. Yeah, I'm still bitter. P.S. Don’t touch my hair.

@alydar09 @DawnLAuthor I loved that horse.... I saw him win the Presidents' Cup and the Omaha Gold Cup at Ak-Sar-Ben. He was ON FIRE that summer of '77!

What's your earliest horse racing memory? Mine is watching the 1973 Belmont and asking my mom, "Where are the other horses?"

@DawnLAuthor My earliest horse racing memory is also my earliest memory, period. I vaguely remember watching the CBS broadcast of Majestic Prince in the Belmont Stakes. Our house lost power during the race. Needless to say, my parents were upset we didn't see the finish.

Paramount is apparently trying to suppress copies of "Only in Monroe" from appearing on other social platforms by filing frivolous copyright notices, even though the show was produced by a public access TV channel and doesn't use their intellectual property...

Just one day after ending "The Late Show" on CBS, Stephen Colbert returned to TV — to host a public access show with rocker Jack White in Monroe, Michigan. Appearances by Jeff Daniels, Eminem and Steve Buscemi.

Making a conscious effort to shoot something/somewhere I usually don't each time I'm at Aqueduct these days. Yesterday, that meant a stroll towards the turn for the day's second race.

@vannoy13 @GoldColdSnow Park Jefferson? Now that goes back a few years. I vividly remember reading Park Jefferson results on the DRF.

Jon Stewart predicting our current media landscape back in 2001: "We're all gonna get fired by the same guy one day and it's gonna be like a freaky genetic cross-breed between Dolly the Sheep and one of Murdoch's kids and it'll just rule AOLTimeViacomWarner" 👀

CBS News Radio is shutting down tonight after nearly a century on the air. The storied service started in 1927 and gave rise to such icons as Douglas Edwards, Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow. Together, they and their colleagues brought history into our homes: From the liberation of Nazi camps in Germany, to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, to the deadliest attack on American soil, 9/11. The company announced the closure in March, blaming what it called "challenging economic realities." To borrow Mr. Murrow's famous phrase, we wish everyone at CBS News Radio one final "Good night, and good luck."

Had a couple pops with Tom Durkin today to talk about his memoir "A Life's Calling" to be released next week, written w/Paul Volponi and Lenny Shulman. Nothing nailed down, but don't be surprised if Tom gets back in the booth to call a race on the final day of Aqueduct, June 28
