Met today with Rob Nichols, President and CEO of the @ABABankers, to discuss how to combat fraud and scams, which are rising across the country. Appreciate Kirsten Sutton, Paul Benda, and Blake Earley for the productive conversation and their strong support of my solution to this problem, the SCAM Act. Scammers are exploiting online ads to steal billions from families and small businesses. The SCAM Act holds platforms accountable—requiring ad vetting, rapid takedowns, and makes it unlawful for social media companies to knowingly profit from running scam ads. Banks and Congress are aligned on this fight. Protecting consumers comes first.

Welcome remarks from @federalreserve Vice Chair Bowman, which echo many points that I have made over the past year. President Trump’s economic policies are delivering real benefits for Main Street, and the Treasury is working hard to deliver regulatory capital reform that allows our community banks to deliver affordable credit to homebuyers. As we continue to work closely with our federal banking agencies to empower community banks and support Main Street prosperity, updating regulatory capital requirements will allow our banks, including community banks, to provide affordable mortgage credit to homebuyers.
