Credit where it's due: @BannerHealth took amazing care of me. Every single nurse had the best bedside manner and were very attentive! I try to be a courteous patient as I know nurses can have a rough time with all different kinds of people from complete jerks to people being obnoxious and demanding. My room was amazing, comfortable and accommodating which surprised me! My pain was very well controlled and my medication regiment was respected. Great hospital, great care! 😍

Banner Health has repeatedly abused me during hospitalizations. They’ve denied my pain, ignored my condition, gaslit me, and falsely documented in my chart with lies like "drug seeker," to cover their cruelty. Banner Health also fraudulently labeled my pain-induced hypertension as “essential hypertension,” pretending they don’t know what’s causing it. That’s not just medical negligence — that’s yet more deception in my patient record. I live with severe, intractable pain 24/7 from chronic pancreatitis — and Banner has always treated me like a criminal, not a patient. This last hospitalization, they did not do labs post-op because I'm a "hard stick," and I did ask someone to do them! I told my night nurse that if she couldn't draw back enough blood from my IV, she could poke me, that I didn't mind because I wanted those labs done. I knew my blood counts and electrolytes were way off. Even my pancreas specialist himself downplayed years of imaging showing pancreatic deformity, atrophy, and disease. When I gave him a rebuttal, he got nasty. My husband is a witness to the whole exchange. I was shocked. My specialist had previously never treated me that way. So who got to him, and what did they say? They discharged me early — not because I was stable, but because I was wanting actual care. Of course my pain wasn't controlled post-procedure. Procedures done on the pancreas are incredibly painful, especially when that pancreas is already diseased and angry. This time around, I did not have the strength, even with righteous anger, to fight back against any of this. The NP working with my pancreas specialist stopped the discharge, but I ended up begging my RN to get it back. Why? Like I already mentioned, I did not have the strength to fight back this time. No one as sick as I am should have to fight tooth and nail for the most basic care and compassion! They ignore the suffering. They silence the pain. They abandon the most vulnerable. Their so-called palliative care team? Useless. Utterly useless. On one of my previous admissions, that "palliative care" team refused a consult and lied, saying that palliative care is only for the dying, and because I was not actively dying? I just got to suffer. Palliative care is for any stage of a serious, life-altering disease. I wasn't asking for hospice, which is end-of-life palliative care. This is NOT care. This is medical abuse. This is cruelty in a white coat. @BannerHealth, you don’t get to hide behind PR spin while people suffer and die under your watch. I can tell that the horrible ideologies of the rabidly anti-opioid, anti-pain patient hate group PROP @supportprop infiltrated @BannerUnivMed in Phoenix and probably other locations too. What I am describing happened at the Phoenix location. Spent near,y all day today in the ER @BannerHealth Ironwood. Confirmed to have pancreatitis. The only thing that had touched it all day was morphine. Toradol did nothing. They sent me home with Oxy. The oxy hasn’t touched it. I should have never been sent home!

@BannerHealth No such thing as continuity of care at UMC anymore. I’ve lost 4 doctors in the last year alone. One is knee surgeon that I had a scheduled surgery with. I am an inch away of taking my care elsewhere. Being an infusion patient, that’s thousands a month alone.
