If this prediction is right, Labour only holds Makerfield because the right is split. Reform + Restore comfortably outpoll Labour combined. That opens the door for Andy Burnham to take over Labour, rebrand the party and win back voters who abandoned Starmer. The right dividing itself could hand Labour another decade in power. Disaster for Britain.

Restore are of course entitled to stand where they like & campaign as they like. But if they get 10% in Makerfield & Reform lose to Labour by 5%, I can't imagine people being very interested in listening if Restore types complain that "the system is rigged against real change".

If #Restore are an ethnoNat party, then one of two things would occur if they won a GE. Firstly, the UK would have no unionist parties in power, so the UK would be a step closer to federalism or break up -with everyone but England rejoining the EU. Is that really what Brits want?

Starmer knows a Win by Andy Burnham in Makerfield buys him valuable time in number 10. He's allowing this charade to go on because the process of the fight thereafter will buy him at least another 18 months -2 years in office. The fight for number ten is a marathon not a sprint.
