20日の三陸沖の地震M7.7、今日公開された20日の気象庁暫定震源による断面。背景の灰色点は2020年9月から19日までの気象庁震源、横顔震源球は気象庁による精査後のCMT解。破線は弘瀬のまとめによる太平洋プレート上面の深さ。

こんなにわかりやすく、割れ残って耐えている固着域（黄色）が丸見えになることはそうはない。 ここ壊れたら、Mw8くらいかな。 個人的には、もう王手で、そもそも壊れないで耐えているのが不思議なくらい。

場所（黄色い星）は、割れ残りに近いけど、ドンピシャかは、微妙。地震のサイズも一回り小さい気がしている。 まだ残ってそう。

気象庁HPの震央分布図を見ると、余震が全然北に広がっていないのが気になる。 山中＆菊池(2004)の図と照らし合わせると、1994と1968南半分にあたるアスペリティBではなく、その南西に隣接するアスペリティCが活動したのかもしれない。1960の地震はMw7.3なので、今回の地震のサイズ感に近い。
