The Department of Environmental Sciences @KyambogoScience has today concluded an exciting field study circuit across Western Uganda for Year 1 students! From exploring salt mining and local livelihoods at Lake Katwe, cruising through the rich biodiversity of the Kazinga Channel, and experiencing wildlife up close during a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, to hydrological observations along River Nyamwamba, cultural and geological learning at the Kiwa Heritage Site, and finally witnessing the spectacular Sempaya Hot Springs in Semuliki National Park! The trip has offered a perfect blend of adventure, discovery, and hands-on environmental learning. Guided by our motto, “Knowledge and Skills for Service,” we remain committed to experiential learning that builds practical competence and critical thinking for a changing world. 🎓
