Thirty-three pounds is not a huge dog. Being friendly and kind-hearted always serves a dog (or a person) well. There's something about this little guy that just grabs me. I hope someone else will see him and go get him. (I am in WI, so am too far away.)

This dog is so sweet, she likes to take a bath! My goodness, people -- if you live in NYC and need a dog, go check this girl out before they put her down. She's too sweet for that and she has many years ahead of her if someone good will just step up and care and take her.

@MatthewMKE98 That's how I feel, too. My best guess is that the #Brewers couldn't get much for Ortiz. Which is a sad state of affairs as we still have to deal with him as fans. (Great defense at 3B two years ago. Decent at SS last year. Poor hitting both years. Bad plate discipline, too.)

🐾4-y/o Bless surrendered b/c owner moving into assisted living. Been w/ owner since a puppy. Very pretty, house/ crate-trained, knows cues. Earned 2nd best behavior rating, friendly w/ strangers, playful w/ kids, lived w/ a small dog, shy but tolerant w/ unfamiliar dogs. Loves balls & walks. From what I saw last year and the year before that, the answer to those questions (except in the first half of the first year, when pitchers hadn't yet figured out he'll wave at just about anything) is a resounding NO. #Brewers

That said, it can make or break you to do the little things right. Can Ortiz? Can he bunt if need be, even though the league rarely bunts anymore? Can he advance a runner to 2nd, a productive out?

Here's the thing about baseball: if everyone could learn plate discipline, they'd all do it. Some are successful without that, but they tend to be big-power hitters like Gorman Thomas or Khris Davis. (To name 2 former #Brewers.)

I like Ortiz's defense, particularly at 3B. He needs to learn plate discipline. Belanger rarely struck out and could bunt on demand. Maybe Ortiz should work on that, as he is not half the clutch player Monasterio was, nor half the hitter Durbin was. #Brewers

The #Orioles, back in the day, could afford to carry Belanger knowing they had multiple hitters to make up for him. The Brewers do have 3 or 4 good hitters. But the Orioles had seven or eight. Not sure why the @Brewers front office thinks Ortiz will get any better, hit-wise.

So, why do the #Brewers value Ortiz so much? Durbin was likeable and had a good future in the game, we all thought as fans...Ortiz, if he's lucky, will be a Mark Belanger-type (all defense, great worth 'cause of that, but never a hitter).
