Winter break is right around the corner and so are a couple of early release days. We have two this week. Enjoy the early start to the break.

Here’s highlighting a few new things at Rivera Elementary after a quick tour! Rivera has a memorial garden, new murals, a brighter cafeteria, and a food pantry. Thank you to the dedicated staff and community members who make a difference every day for students!

Thank you to Communities in Schools! Showcasing Rivera Elementary highlighted how important volunteers are in building relationships to help students thrive! On behalf of the 2300 Denton ISD students in the program, a huge shout out to all the volunteers who make a difference!

Trick-or-treating at the Virginia Gallian Center for Young Children! Students dressed in costumes and received treats as they visited the various community members, including police officers, firefighters, DISD’s superintendent, Mrs. Gallian, and Santa Claus!

What a fun evening at C.H. Collins for Grandparents and Gridiron! Cheerleaders and drill team members from both Denton High and Ryan High greeted the grandparent volunteers who were guests for the game.

Welcome to the 24 German exchange students and their instructors! For over 25 years Herr Shade has provided opportunities for cultural exchange for his students with students from Berlin. Parents hosted a kick-off breakfast for the students on their first day at Guyer.

What a fun evening! The performance of “Six” at Guyer High School under the direction of the incredible Crotwells showcased talented students in the musical comedy about the wives of Henry VIII.
