It’s a recognized form of torture to wake a person up and prevent them from sleeping for several hours. Then, just as they are starting to fall asleep, jolt them awake and begin to pepper them with question after question at a loud volume. It takes just 2 days for this to be considered a form of torture recognized by the United Nations. It’s an actual technique that gets used to make grown men give up national secrets and drive them to insanity. This is a Mother’s Day message. If she is in the baby and toddler stage, let her sleep.

@BarbaraPlatts I always told friends: Travel all you want up until 6 (maybe even 8 months) but once that baby turns toddler and wants to move, particularly if they crawl, keep them home till 18 months.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but taking a 4 month old on an airplane is SO MUCH easier than taking a 10 month old on one.

Spent today editing work I wrote while pregnant. Some pieces were hard to read because that time feels so far away now, even though it was less than a year ago. I was happy to come home from writing to this face. It reminded me that all those struggles were for the best reason.

Took my first trip away from my baby girl for work. 30 hours in Vegas for a new editor job. I’m happy to be heading home but it sure felt good to get out and back to work! Props to the moms out there doing it all ✊
