I’m running for South Carolina State House District 70! Both Kershaw and Richland Counties have given me so much in life and I’m ready to give back. I’d be honored to have your trust, your support, and your vote.  Let’s get to work!

Just brought another family in from a car. Second in a week. The father, mother, and child will be warm tonight. So proud of my @HNM_SC team for answering my phone calls and making magic happen on weekends. Be grateful for all you have - I know I am! #homelessfamilies

As Senator Shealy asked: who will look out for the children, especially in foster care, and those who suffer from Alzheimer’s? And a host of other citizens. She will always be “Senator” Shealy to me. Thank you for your service.
Maayan Schechter@MaayanSchechter

Shealy takes out the profile in courage award awarded to the “sister senators” over their opposition to abortion ban restrictions. Says it wasn’t allowed on the floor when it was awarded because it was too “controversial” so, with her colleagues, she brings it to the floor.

@TIDEVINE is on point with her comments. The willingness of women to work together to meet common goals benefits all SC citizens. Three #sistersenators who worked together were defeated or forced into runoffs by one of two things: 1. Politicians who seek polarization or 2. Peoples failure to vote.

I have not said much publicly about this Tuesday’s election until now. Although I am immensely grateful for receiving 92% of the vote to become the Democratic nominee for SC Senate District 19, I am incredibly disappointed by the results in other areas that targeted my #SisterSenators and caused 2 of them to lose their seats and pushed our Senior Sister Senator into a runoff. The partisan gerrymandering of districts and the focus of voters on one issue, has caused our state to lose amazing public servants who understand that in order to move our state forward, we must be able to find common ground & work towards real solutions to the issues that face South Carolina. I am devastated by the results of some of these elections but retain hope that this will be a rallying cry for all South Carolinians, especially those who value reproductive freedom, women’s rights and support of public education. We have several women on the ballot on June 25 and November 5. We must make our voices heard. When I was elected in Jan we made history by having the highest number of women serving in the SC Senate. There are people who want to take us back. We can not let them. Vote like our State’s future depends on it…..because it does ! #electionshaveconsequences #WomenSupportingWomen #SCWomenInLeadership #MomsInOffice #WomenLead #TrustWomen

My father was a veteran of WWII. He returned w/ 4 Purple Hearts for his painful service. He also came home to a family. Many vets today do not. I'm proud to serve on the BoD of #Valanthropy which is building places for homeless vets. Will you help us? bit.ly/4bxb4x3

Thanking God for putting me in this space. As long as He lets me, I’ll continue to walk the journey with our at risk and homeless families. @HNM_SC

Yes! Thanks for saying it correctly. We have the power to help determine the next justice by new candidates and our votes. bit.ly/3IqhWPV

@MaryGreenNews @wis10 @wmbfnews @WRDW_WAGT @WTOC11 @Live5News @foxcarolinanews Whoever is elected into the State House this November will determine who will fill the open seat (in early 2025). Voting for state legislators this year is about more than just laws. They decide the make up of our highest state courts.

For clarification, read yesterday’s WIL Weekly. Justice Beatty’s mandatory retirement is at the end of 2024. If we elect more women and minorities in November, the next justice may NOT be a White male. @scwomenlead bit.ly/3IqhWPV
Be The Ones@letsbetheones

In #SouthCarolina legislators elect judges. With Justice Beatty’s retirement, whoever is elected in the State House THIS November will decide who will fill the open seat (early 2025). And, ultimately decide if the Court will be an all male, all white bench. Local elections matter
