Trent Alexander-Arnold plays right-back for Real Madrid. Started home and away against Manchester City. He won the Premier League and Champions League at right-back with Liverpool. He’s used to dealing with pressure. He’s taken a decisive tournament penalty. He’s played in the World Cup before. He has occasional defensive deficiencies but he brings a long-range passing skill that few possess. Are England that blessed at right-back that they don’t need Alexander-Arnold? That he isn’t amongst the best 30 outfield players available to Thomas Tuchel?

@TypicalBoroPod Dicko proving he was spot on what he's said about Conway all season, no matter the stick from the other two! Time and time again utter failure to hit the net when it's needed. Biggest opportunity thrown away we'll ever get.

@smoggie1976 @Loulameg @GraemeBandeira The fact when we brought castledine on Conway was told to move out left is showing that Kim wants him there that’s not his game but he’s getting blamed when he’s been instructed to move wide to free space therefore he’s barely in the positions to get the flow to score

@Loulameg @GraemeBandeira Lou on a pod we did in maybe November when we discussed what we would need in the January window I said a CF. I defend TC as I still see him as our best option. If anything it tells you all you need to know about the other two as they haven't done enough to earn his spot. UTFB

@BoroMundo We signed strikers in the summer we signed Sene, Hansen and Strelec and none of them really worked. Strelec looks a player but he’s not shown enough yet January would have been more likely the same. Our club has been a graveyard for strikers

The striker debate is settled. It’s not up for argument or debate anymore. The quality and decision making in the final third is absolutely terrible. Conway and Strelec’s huge misses have cost us the game. Only team in the Top 6 not to improve their XI in January. Chucked it.

Don’t think I’d have benched Strelec after he finally got a run of games, but got to trust Kim.
It does however give us a bench option.
