@BarnetRunner Post-half treacle legs are so real. But you still got out there and the woodpecker sighting alone makes it worth it. The cat greeting at the end is the best cool down there is.
A very difficult 6K that felt like running through treacle. Maybe I went back too soon after the half marathon. One woodpecker. Three hellos. It was lovely to be met by my cat on the walk home. #Running#UKRunChat
Ran the Bath Half. Chaos at the start with inaudible announcements and confusion about waves. Weather all over the place, too: sun, wind and icy spots of rain. That final hill was tricky, but I got up it. Incredible crowd support. Managed my third best HM time. #Running#BathHalf
Bath Half Marathon ✅
After last week’s 10 mile PB & injury number 2, today was all about survival 😅
By 10k I was in trouble, and with 6k to go it was time to dig deep and run-walk it home.
Not the race I hoped for, but I’m proud.

@BarnetRunner Yep well done you on the time & hope you enjoyed it despite everything! & yep the weather down here was all over the place - we had sun, lots of wind, ice rain & then torrential rain - welcome to the West Country!!
@BarnetRunner Fabulous!
Got happy memories of #BathHalf even though I forgot to bring a change of clothes and had to come back wringing wet on the train!!
@BarnetRunner Marmalade cat on a wall is top tier run wildlife. I keep a mental list of the cats I see on my routes — there's a grey tabby at mile 2 who judges me every single time. Nice conditions for it too after the rain
The night rain gave way to weak morning sun, making ideal conditions for my 6.5K. Two hellos and a noisy woodpecker. Strong car fumes. The highlight was running past a beautiful marmalade-coloured cat on a wall. #Running#UKRunChat
Ran 15K but found it very tough. Hydration issues maybe? One cat (a local bully) and five hellos. Wet, misty air. Saw a group of boys crawling along the path on hands and feet as part of their football training. #Running#UKRunChat
Another 6.5K of hill training. There was a heavy mist, which began clearing as the sun burned through. Two hellos. One woodpecker. It’s a joy (and a great relief) to feel my fitness returning. #Running#UKRunChat
In preparation for Bath Half (15th March), which ends on a big slope, I finally did some “hill training”. Found it challenging, but managed a 6.5K circuit with two big ups and two big downs. #Running#UKRunChat
@BarnetRunner You are most welcome & No I'm not - its a much bigger race that I like & I'm don't really like the sound of the loopy course.....but I know others who have ran it & enjoyed it!
