First half term in year 3 - complete! It’s been a busy and incredible half term and I am so proud of everything you have achieved so far. Happy half term 🎃 @BarntonMissR

In PE this half term we have been looking at a dance style from Brazil which links to our English and Geography topics. We learnt lots of moves from the dance style ‘capoeira’ then performed these like they would in Brazil. You all had great moves year 3! 🌎

In science we have been looking at patterns of shadows 🔦 we changed the position of the light source to see how the shadow would change. Well done year 3 you are all budding scientists in the making!

In English today we took part in some role- play and imagined we were Jemmy Button’s family living in the rainforest. We cut down trees, foraged for food and made fires while we waited for Jemmy Button to return back home. 🌿🏙️ Great work year 3!

Today in Maths year 3 were partitioning numbers up to 1000 🤯 We then went on to flexible partitioning! I was so impressed with your skill year 3, well done!

Today in English, Year 3 immersed themselves into our text ‘Jemmy Button’. They thought about what Jemmy Button would have seen and heard at different points in the story. I was so impressed with their ideas - amazing work Year 3. 🌿🏙️

Today in maths, year 3 have been counting in 100’s. We used place value charts and base tens to represent these numbers as well.

Year 3 have had a great start to the new school year! In English we identified unfamiliar words in a poem and matched them to pictures and their definitions. Great teamwork guys!
