The Ladybirds have had ‘snow’ much fun. Mother Nature couldn’t have timed it any better, enhancing our winter themed topic with some hands on learning. ⛄️ ❄️ @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

The Ladybirds have been working hard to develop and strengthen their funky fingers. On Friday we focussed on the pen ‘grip’, encouraging the children to hold it between their fingers in a pincer grip, aka ‘baby shark fingers’ to our little learners. @BarntonMissR @HavesMrs

The Ladybirds have had a great week with our ‘Birthday’ themed activities and today we brought it to a close with cake decorating, gift wrap printing and of course lots of fun party dances! 🎶 @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

It’s been a fun and colourful week learning about Autumn. The children particularly enjoyed our spontaneous ‘leaf throwing frenzy’ out on the field and responded brilliantly to our story, ‘The Leaf Thief’, joining in with repeated refrains and key words. @BarntonMissR @HavesMrs🐞

What a beautiful day for a walk in the forest. We focussed on the leaves and how they change at this time of year; so many beautiful colours 🍁 🍃 🍂 We collected lots of autumnal treasures to take back to Nursery with us too. @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

Another fun filled week of learning in the Ladybird Room. Daily phonics, maths, stories and rhymes, plus dancing, basketball, the bean game, languages, an environmental sound walk and so much more in between. What a busy week! @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

We’ve been learning about healthy habits this week and the importance of a balanced diet. Treats are ok, just not too many! Today we got to try some tasty treats - a cake from our #MacmillanCoffeeMorning Yum! Yum! Yum! @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

This week our focus has been on how to play, share and take turns with our friends. We’ve already seen some great progress being made which is fantastic! We also did our first Pen Disco… wow! Ladybirds, what great pen control you have. Well done ⭐️🐞 @BarntonMissR @HavesMrs

Our little learners in the Ladybird Room have been amazing this week and have really explored their new environment with confidence. It’s been lovely to see them so engaged and having fun. What a wonderful start to our school year. @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

The football fun continued all day in Nursery. We watched the goals scored in the semi-finals, made our own bunting, we practised our football skills and penalty shoot, and of course we practised cheering on our team. Good luck England! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿#EURO2024 @BarntonMissR @HavesMrs

It’s been a busy and exciting week for the Ladybirds with our Reception Class transition days; plus lots of hands on learning around our focus text, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and some sporting fun with Wimbledon. Anyone for tennis? 🎾 @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

The heavy rain didn’t stop play today for Nursery, it just opened up some new learning opportunities and had our little learners thinking of different ways to play instead. What fun we had! @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR

Nursery have been putting their pen disco skills to good use today with some independent mark making - spirals, zigzags, spots, butterflies, snails, caterpillars and so much more… Such wonderful pen control and creativity. @HavesMrs @BarntonMissR
