The series is directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki (FLCL), scripted by Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Yoji Enokido, with character designs by take, mechanical designs by Evangelion designer Ikuto Yamashita, and music by Masayuki Hasuo and Yoshimasa Terui. Kenshi Yonezu performs the theme song, “Plazma.” The project was first announced at the Winter Gundam 2024 Conference, promoted as “khara × SUNRISE, a crossing of dreams,” marking the first major collaboration between Gundam studio Sunrise and Neon Genesis Evangelion studio khara.
