Oh FFS… ‘500Mbs’ But actually usually 275Mbs and maybe only 50Mbs. The point of fibre broadband is supposed to be different from ‘up to’ phone line speed mullarkey. GoMo buries this in the T&C small print.

Broadband market shake-up -- GoMo announces 30-day rolling contract fibre broadband. €30pm for first 10k customers. The catch is you have to be a GoMo customer. Even still, not requiring a 6, 12 or 24 month contract is new and interesting. independent.ie/business/techn…

Why the hell is the UCL final at 5pm UK time? It's gonna be complete daylight for the entire match 😂😂 that's never happened before for a UCL final?!

@adrianweckler Would have liked to see a clearer break down on the pay back period including things like the standard charge, the annual maintenance costs of the panels, the impact of changing to a smart tariff on peaktime showers and dinners, opportunity investment cost etc.

Life of an EV driver Arrive in Sligo. Battery pretty much dead Go to charger in Sligo Train station. BOTH charging spots taken up by non-EVs not charging despite an abundance of empty car parking spots. @APCOAConnectIE

@F1_driven I felt the commentary even felt so forced, crofty forcing excitement when it was dead.

Weird, I didn't really miss F1, and now it's back I'm bored & I feel as if I don't really care like I used to I feel like it's just so repetitive. Everything is the same, nothing surprising happens. The same rules can be exploited, the same commentators talking nonsense

Seems like the changes during the April break has worked imo Less “battery boost” overtakes and more traditional racing to what we’re used to, well at least for the Miami Sprint race at least! What do you think?

@EO_Halloran That's good about the standing charge, however the payback period is likely significantly longer when you include the opportunity cost of the returns foregone.

@BarryBetsby The export is so big that it covers the standing charge! It's tax free energy that's free to use. Pays itself back in 5-8 years, depending on individual circumstances ofc. And then all that extra money saved each year can then be invested anywhere else Its just a win-win-win

The savings from running a Solar+Battery+EV system at home are insane Last weekend our solar exported 70Kwh. That works out at getting paid ~€6 per day Charging the EV costs ~€365 per year. So 2 months of sun harvesting effectively pays for the ENTIRE yearly car fuel bill

EVs in Ireland and now as cheap to buy as their competitors, and are 7x times cheaper to run. Based on top 10 sales in Q1 2026. The only way a ICE vehicle beats an EV is if you can’t charge at home. @adrianweckler @GerHerbert1
