Lakers Rookie Big William Kyle III had a strong defensive showing in Summer League. Kyle’s mix of athleticism, defensive switchability, rim protection, finishing, motor, length, and rebounding at 6’9 helps him impact the game at a strong level and he played a key role in the Lakers finishing with a 6-2 record in Summer League. Kyle was one of the best defenders in Summer League and teams shot just 45% at the rim with Kyle on the floor, compared to 60% with him off. Kyle is also a switchable big who’s able to switch onto smaller players and use his athleticism to make a play or get a steal. Kyle On the offensive end Kyle is a strong lob threat and is good at getting himself open after a screen and plays with an incredibly high motor and consistency creates second chance points with his rebounding.
