It’s been a huge honour to serve as Foreign Secretary, but clearly the Conservative Party in opposition will need to shadow the new Foreign Secretary from the Commons.
So I told Rishi Sunak that I would step back. I’m delighted that the Shadow Foreign Secretary role has gone to my good friend Andrew Mitchell.
As a committed Conservative I will continue to support the Party and help where I can as we rebuild from the very disappointing election result.

I’m still bemused that the Guardian gave this one star. Three stars - fine. It’s a fun, laugh out loud three stars but it seems genuinely spiteful to give it one star. Snobbish, in fact. Which is ironic as snobbery is a major theme in the film.

Went to see Women Swearing (Wicked Little Letters) tonight. Really enjoyed this - lots of foul-mouthed fun! There was a certain plot contrivance late on that made me go ‘well, that obviously didn’t *really* happen like that’ - I googled it & found out, actually, it did.
