@EvolTheoArne @eLife @evokerr Bull — we see many instances of rock-paper-scissors. See rodent mating systems - Sinervo et al. 2020 Am Nat. To prove RPS is acting in nature is very hard. Experiments in nature are required and this has been done in only a few systems.

...my last in person memories of Phil were from a 5-day road trip that we took together, when the two of us went to Lizard Biology NM — herping, talking and drinking vino tinto — hanging out at an AirB&B. Epic and so special — To Phil — May the spirit of his memories inspire us.

Very sad news my kindred spirits in Herpetology. My friend Phil Rosen died (news from Miles via Fau’to). We have lost a truly great naturalist and scientist of the SW corner of our continent — so sad (deeply sad for me)...
