My son finished 5 month stint as a TA in a nth London primary today. The farewell cards from children, teachers and parents are so touching. The community embraced him in such a magnificent way .. he’s full of love for the school and respect for the work teachers do. Beautiful.

@runningstitch Agree, but can be helpful to weaker pupils. I have a bigger issue, that comes from maths lessons usually, is the use of upper case letters. Eg F =MA , what has area got to do with N2? S=D/T, T is period not time.

I HATE FORMULA TRIANGLES! Please never ever teach them. (And this is top set! And this didn't come from me)

@FixingEducation I don’t think there are any ‘contractual hours’. There is directed time, but in addition teachers contract states that you need to use time to do your job. The key is to manage your time, knowing term time is busier than school holiday time.

I’m amazed at teacher contracts…specifically what little time (prep) is provided for teachers to actually get stuff done. If teachers ONLY worked contractual hours, 90% of the needed work wouldn’t happen even for the most efficient ones. 🤔

Did spot a possible ambiguity here though in the 1st board I looked at... "going at a steady speed" should be "turning" to be marked correct but both could still work as the bus could be going in a circle... Feedback given on the site, so hopefully it will be changed soon.🙂

@edmunds_dr I think that there might be an error in instruction 2 on second expt. Should it be pieces of paper rather than resistances?

Definitely didn't forget that I hadn't planned my year 10 lesson tomorrow (full day so no time to plan during day). Anyway, they struggle to visualise sensing circuits with LDRs/thermistors so I put a little practical together for them. Might be useful to others?

@CarrieHFletcher Some shows advertised special sing a long performances. Good idea as it should remove the problem. But then don’t get me into people basically eating a picnic behind you in the audience and giving abuse when you ask them politely to stop making a noise with their crisp packets…

Not only does this make FOH staff jobs harder, it also perpetuates this idea that performing is easy! You can do it right from your seat in the audience! It doesn’t take hard work + training + therefore doesn’t deserve any respect. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Ffs don’t we know better than this by now?
