@ScottAniol Or as Sproul put it, the God who has ordained the ends has ordained the means as well. Somehow our prayers are God's means to His ends. Prayer is an incomprehensible privilege.

@ScottAniol As near as I can tell from the facts that we have presented in Scripture, we will essentially pick up where Adam left off. The difference this time being that we will be indwelt by God therefore incapable of sin.

Most Christians are functional Gnostics about the afterlife. They think salvation means escaping the body to float around as a spirit forever. Paul would find that horrifying.

My Lord, keep me from preferring the idol of blind tradition and keep me seeking good, better, best in this life.

21 March 2026: John 5:10-18. My Lord Jesus, God the Son, YHWH-Saving, keep me from the presumptuous sin of preferring my way to Yours. Ecclesiastes 10. My Lord, make me diligent, calm, and respectful in this life so that my life will adorn the Gospel.

Lord Jesus, my heart is an idol factory of my own ambitions; cause it to submit to the life of simple obedience to You.

20 March 2026: John 5:1-9. My Lord, forgive me for my tendency to make up my own religion rather than simply obeying You as my Sovereign. Ecclesiastes 9. My Lord, may I ever be grateful for the beautiful simplicity of a good life that You have granted to those whom You love.

Lord Jesus Messiah, YWHW Among Your People, You have bequeathed to me a life of shalom here and now and in eternity. Increase my trusting obedience to You.

19 March 2026: John 4:51-54. Master, Lord Jesus, You are YHWH, may I truly practice obedience before belief. Ecclesiastes 8. Master, may I turn for evil and do good; may I seek Your shalom and pursue it each day.
