@StickStarHype @GeriatricLAXer @StickStarReport Sports governing bodies have rules like what you can do in the off-season, when you can start in-season practices, when you can start games, how many games you can play, etc. in order to help create a level playing field but most importantly to PROTECT THE STUDENT-ATHLETES

Uniform start & end dates will both legitimize the league and help provide a level playing field for it’s member programs.

@GreekGodOfHops @KirkHerbstreit @Sut_ESPN Ask HS coaches. Are the ultra-specialized, travel-team-since-8yo kids that much better than everyone else by the time they are Jr or Sr in HS? Do they compete harder? Do they care more? Did their parents early investment really give them that much of an advantage post-puberty?

@22classy I agree. You can still choose a style of play. Coaches that want to pressure and play fast are still going to do that. Coaches that want to possess and be more methodical are still going to do that. But at least there are consistent constraints to each possession now.

The shot clock is not going to benefit certain teams, or affect the game strategy, nearly as much as people think, or want to talk about, in my opinion.
