HGSS, and by extension ORAS, gave fans alot of good faith on remakes, believing that things can only get better. That's why there was still a great demand for Sinnoh remakes. So when an actual subpar game came along, it shattered all good will for remakes going forward.

The lack of an established well written team avatar was the biggest miss with the show and reasons it's not as loved as atla. Characters have their own arcs but there's no sort of found family.
