When this law on barring those with double citizenship was passed by Parliament where were all of you, the learned? We have the office of attorney General, First Parliamentary Council, Legal and Parliamentary Committee, Parliament of Uganda, Law Schools across Uganda etc. Then the law firms, courts etc. In 1995, we didn't have provisions for duo citizenship. But when Uganda allowed duo citizenship, it decided to introduce safeguards. We need to move cautiously and avoid emotions. This is our country and we must protect it at all times. If Allegiance to the Republic of Uganda requires certain categories of leaders to denounce other citizenships, where is the problem? Simply denounce the other citizenship and if you can't then you confirm that you are exercising double allegiance to both countries where you are a citizen. Is this what we want for Uganda, a sovereign State?

That is a question the people who are saying @ReachDrMuganga, Ecodu and other dual citizens can’t be ministers aren’t answering. Btw, the same constitution doesn’t expressly stop dual citizens being Speaker, CJ or even President. So one can head an entire branch of government but can’t serve as a junior minister in the executive branch? Make it make sense.

But what is going on? Is his job on the line? I see so many influencers busy online telling us the obvious... There is no smoke without fire...

Calm, Collected, Humble & Intelligent: Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong. Hon. @TodwongR in 2015 resigned from Cabinet as Minister without Portfolio & further resigned as MP Nwoya County to take up the position of Deputy Secretary General of the National Resistance Party. In what appeared to be a demotion, Hon. Richard took it with Humility and total dedication. In June, 2021, Todwong was appointed the Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement. This is where it all starts; 1. For the first time, the @NRMOnline had a National Membership Register. 2. The National Delegates Conference was held very successfully without the chaos that had been witnessed in the preceding Delegates Conferences. 3. For the first time, the President trusted the NRM Secretariat with his 2026-2031 Presidential Election. Previously, it was either Office of the National Chairman, State House, some Active and retired Military Officers in charge of Mobilization. 2026 was different. It was Hon. Todwong and his Secretariat that were in charge. 4. It was a mission well executed. My prayer between now and 2031 is to devise a mechanism to stop any form of vote rigging and manipulation during the Party Primaries which then affects the performance of the Party in the General Elections.

Thank you for pointing out DSTV, but there others too; like our EDUCATION ITSELF. I heard yesterday on my TRANSITOR 📻 , a whole "grown" man, raise a POINT OF ORDER in Parliament that his colleague hadn't put on a SUIT WITH A TIE! And he quoted RULE 18...I still remember it! These are the people we spent trillions "educating" and now putting into LEADERSHIP! THESE ARE THE LEADERS AFRICA HAS! I switched off the radio and went to meet my friends who had come to visit me, was so happy than listening to that trash....

How did others do it? It is not like we saw Chinese youths close schools to celebrate European football; they are the second largest economy in the World! We didn't see it happen in Japan, people who were able to REBULD after TWO NUCLEAR ATTACKS; We did not see it happen in Iran, people who have STOOD TALL AND SAVED THEIR COUNTRY FROM CONQUEST LIKE LIBYA! We even didn't see it in UK itself, or Germany cities, or Russian cities....These are developed countries; but us; who hunt WILF YAMS and MUSU for supper have the time and resources to celebrate Arsenal victory and close schools and roads? What does it show about our COGNITIVE INTERGRITY AS A PEOPLE? We can argue and abuse, but REALITY ULTIMATELY CATCHES UP WITH FOOLS!

Network Corruption/Corruption Networks in Parliament of Uganda. Hon @norbertmao, I saw your post urging the current parliament leadership to investigate corruption networks in Parliament. This would have been the case if both the Speaker and deputy Speaker were new. Now in the current circumstances even the Auditor General or IGG cannot ably investigate this. We all saw what happened with Mabati (Iron Sheets) for Karamoja scandal. What we need is for the Executive, Pres. @KagutaMuseveni to engage an independent international audit firm like PwC, KPMG or Deloitte to take up the investigation of network corruption /corruption networks in Parliament. This way, at some point the Deputy Speaker would be asked to step aside for about 6 months like it has been done for PS internal affairs to allow investigations to proceed without interference. So push for the Cabinet to initiate investigations instead of Parliament investigating itself. Hon @DaudiKabanda and @MwesigyeFranks and other NRM/PLU activists who seem to fight corruption would agree with this approach. We need to thoroughly clean the parliament of corruption and corruption agents. Ugandans are watching...
