Our dataset on the cycling and #aging female reproductive tract is now online! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We did a transcriptomic characterization of 50 cell types from 5 female reproductive tissues in young mice during estrus, pregnancy, and in acyclic old mice. @dkfz #singlecell

@ewanbirney So, I have seen it in France when some city or neighbour fest is going on... but as multicoloured (and not as tricolour) paper garland ... not saying that won't happen, but I don't remember any example right now

Oh hive mind, how "English/British" is bunting (little flags / paper triangles in patriotic colours on string to be run between houses on a street or outside). Does any other country go in for this? French bunting in tricolour colours right? I guess not Germany. Netherlands? US?

I have distracted myself this week with the extraordinarily mundane task of designing a sample identifier scheme. I want to share some decisions I made in the hope that it saves somebody else some time.

People with #dyslexia read better with certain fonts, writing styles and media. What font type works best for your students or loved ones with dyslexia?

@ladugarden I would agree with nearly everything there is on the poster but the Do: Left align. I hate left alignment. I prefer justified where spaces between words are usually different from one line to another. It really helps me to keep my line and not switch to another one in the middle.

Using the “Comment” function to point out flaws in manuscripts on bioRxiv — yay or nay? (Manuscript cites us in support for a claim that we in fact disprove.)

@amandayagan I understand your point. On the other hand, I had people helping themselves into my slides (shared project). Then, it helps for traceability.

Beamer peeps: we really do NOT need the constant reminder of your name/title/date at the bottom of slides (slide nums I like though!) - \setbeamertemplate{footline}[frame number] \setbeamertemplate{navigation symbols}{}
