The Bible speaks about Adam and Eve, the tree, and the fruit, and says their eyes were opened after they ate it. Has any biblical scholar ever clearly identified what the “fruit” actually was meant to be? Because a Christian friend of mine keeps insisting it was sex, saying Satan tempted them into sexual activity. But the text itself only refers to fruit, so what is the established scholarly view on that?
