Truly heartbroken to post this on behalf of the Keegan family... It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75. The former England player and manager had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments. Kevin, a double Ballon D’or winner, was a much loved husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank Kevin’s incredible medical team for all their support. This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy.

KSE: an explanation. KSE holds $4bn+ of net equity in Arsenal. This gives it perhaps $8bn of borrowing capacity. This helped it expand into buying the St Louis Rams, moving them to LA and building the SoFi Arena, after buying Arsenal. These are cash-generating assets; Arsenal is the ratchet mechanism. Because of the huge net equity, KSE’s borrowing is much cheaper (due to it de-risking the loan). It saves them tens of millions of dollars every single year in loan costs due to the improved rates. And it gives them access to more capital. Even so, KSE has put $300m of funding into Arsenal, ever. In loans. Which, btw, is exactly what Arsenal reduced their net debt by in the decade after Stan Kroenke joined the board, entirely unnecessarily. It was a move that destroyed us on the pitch and, in an FFP era, limited our ability to spend/compete in future due to the declining revenues and the gap that needed to be closed with other clubs. Under FFP, Arsenal could spend well in excess of $200m of owner equity - equivalent to what KSE saves every few years in loan costs, thanks to Arsenal - and still stay within their limits. Yet KSE want the club to be “sustainable”, which means spending only the resources it generates, regardless of the benefits Arsenal generate for KSE. Arsenal’s recent successes are not down to the Kroenkes. They are down to Mikel Arteta, who has made us the dominant team in English football on the fifth-highest net spend and wage bill over the past several years. If we lose Mikel Arteta due to the Kroenkes’ refusal to invest to compete - as we have lost out on Monga, Tonali, Rogers, possibly Guimaraes this summer alone - then we will return to being the also-rans our level of investment dictates. Arsenal have still not signed any objectively world-class players this summer. Mikel Arteta has still not signed his contract. 🔴⚪️

A reminder on what Josh Kroenke said that Arsenal won’t spend £100m+ unless a player is truly transformational. Declan Rice ticked every box - elite quality, leadership, Premier League proven, and the perfect fit for what Arteta wanted to build. Morgan Rogers is a fine talent, but at £100m+, he doesn’t meet that same threshold. Arsenal’s recruitment has always been about value as much as quality. There’s a difference between buying a very good player and investing in a game-changer. That’s the standard.

@GoonerDom0811 What is incorrect with what I said you fucking muppet. They didn’t want to pay £117m for Rogers, whether you think he’s worth it or not, that is the state that the market is in.

@_Arsenalblog Thats not true Nuno, the fans love you, we respect you and we understood that it didn't work. The project was too demanding and overly ambitious. Thats why lack of experience was treated that harshly. But we always wish you well.

Reporter: Nuno, what do you think went wrong between you and the Arsenal fans? Nuno Tavares: "I understand why some supporters were frustrated. When you play for a club like Arsenal, every mistake is magnified. That game against Liverpool was probably the toughest moment for me. I made an error that led to Diogo Jota's goal, and I knew I had let my teammates and the fans down. It hurt because nobody wants to make a mistake in such a big match. But what people don't always see is how much those moments affect a player. I was still young, trying to adapt to the Premier League, and I always gave everything I had whenever I wore the Arsenal shirt. I never disrespected the badge or the supporters. Sometimes football is cruel—you can play well for weeks, but one mistake is all people remember. I have no bad feelings towards Arsenal fans. They expect excellence, and that's what makes the club special. I just wish they could remember that behind every mistake is a player trying his best. I learned from that experience, it made me mentally stronger, and I'll always be grateful for the opportunity Arsenal gave me."

You don’t build a dynasty by signing 28 y/o’s and 29 y/o’s in your first summer window after winning the Premier League. How some people can’t grasp that is beyond me.

🗣️ Bukayo Saka on speaking to William Saliba after England’s win over France: “Yeah, I spoke to him about the injury he picked up against Spain 🇪🇸 and he said he feels good, but not that good. He’s still feeling some pain, but everything will be assessed soon. He congratulated me on the hat-trick as well. Then he joked that if he’d been on the pitch, I wouldn’t have scored those goals because he wouldn’t have let me. We both had a laugh about it.”

🚨🎙️Arsene Wenger on Morgan Rogers transfer to Chelsea 🗣️ “They are getting serious now. They will always be the pride of london. They have two cold players now,Cold Palmer and Cold Rogers. I think they have the best midfield now, Enzo Caicedo and Rogers. Palmer should be able to play on the right wing. A big club will always be a big club. Arsenal won the league and Chelsea still beat them to sign him. Teams like Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea you have to always take them serious. They will always be big. Alonso is my favorite manager because he is the most flexible manager I’ve ever seen.” 👏

Even without UCL football Chelsea is a bigger club than Arsenal; Just like I said before, world-class players will choose Chelsea over Arsenal because they grew up watching Chelsea win titles. The Champions League, Premier League, and Club World Cup all matter. Winning just one Premier League title in 20 years doesn't give you that level of pull. Morgan Rogers chose Chelsea over Mikel Arteta's football. Chelsea are bigger than Arsenal. That's a fact.

🚨🚨 Patrick Vieira on Arsenal having players hijacked by rivals 🔴⚪ “Where is the seriousness when we’re losing players to our opponents? In this scenario, Tottenham took Sandro Tonali when we wanted him, City took Jeremy Monga when we wanted him, and now chelsea have hijacked Morgan Rogers. You have to ask why.” “Is it because we don’t want to release the money? You cannot even walk the talk when you’re champions?. If you’ve identified your targets, you have to act quickly and decisively.” “No elite club should keep watching priority signings slip away because of hesitation. This simply cannot keep happening if Arsenal want to remain at the top.” ❤️🤍 #Arsenal #PatrickVieira #COYG #TransferWindow #PremierLeague #Football #AFC
