@PagelTaylor @Hurricane35Plus It’s your field. You can make whatever decision you’d like. But that shouldn’t prevent you from getting feedback from teams that are affected by your decisions.

We are on the southeast side of the Metro. It rained here from 3-7am. Field handled initial inch of so. Once front crawled past, we thought the rain was over. Instead, front stalled. Rain became puddles. Would have been a 3-4 hour turnover. Not much else we could do.

@PagelTaylor @Hurricane35Plus It’s fair. I recognize that people put lots of work into this stuff. I’m sure on some level you can also understand the frustrating aspects.

@BaseballLoons @Hurricane35Plus Let’s get a game on the schedule next year to settle our differences. Then we can drink beers together after no matter the outcome and get over this dumb feud.

@BaseballLoons @Hurricane35Plus Yep, welcome to MN baseball where we can’t control the weather. Volunteer workers with families and no idea what the weather will do or how long it will take to fix a field if the weather stops. Once again, volunteer to host next year yourself if you’re upset.

@PagelTaylor @Hurricane35Plus Ultimately it’s old man baseball. It doesn’t matter. But the inconsistency is frustrating. Two years ago we played in heavy rain- told we had to. This year we couldn’t play even though conditions would’ve been fine later in the day. We just want to play.

@PagelTaylor @Hurricane35Plus This isn’t hard. You’re missing the point. I’m sure they’re great guys and work hard to help you he league out. But deciding to cancel all games at 11am was clearly the wrong decision. I’m not complaining about the weather. I have an issue with bad decisions.

@Hurricane35Plus And if you don’t want to jeopardize the field- simple- don’t agree to host games. Can we not ask reasonable questions in good faith? The snark is unnecessary. Not a good look for Hastings guys.

@Hurricane35Plus This is completely a bad faith response. You did not address the question of why the hasty decision was made to cancel rather than observe for a few hours. Are you saying they are risking injury in Burnsville- 15 minutes away?

@Hurricane35Plus Two or three years ago we drove to far south metro and played in a downpour on an awful mound after being told we HAD to play the game. This year we can’t wait and reassess in a few hours? I know it’s hard to plan for this stuff but I disagree with the way this was handled.

@Hurricane35Plus I’m not saying it wouldn’t have taken work, but 3-4 hours from 11am is like 3pm. We likely could have gotten a game or two in today which makes a huge difference trying to figure this out. Guys would have helped turn the field over. Seems awfully premature to me.

@Hurricane35Plus Is there a reason we couldn’t have watched to field for a few hours to see if it becomes playable later today? Maybe fit in a game or two?

Our games at Vets Park have been postponed until Sunday. Same times. Same park. Mother Nature wins today.

Loons take the W over the @MetroSaints 7-0. Our season continues Saturday against divisional foe Tonka Saints. Made it to championship weekend. Way to go boys!

Loons follow up our opening round loss with a 12-2 win over Northfield. Now the rain. We’ll see if we get to play another today.
