@CherylSchatz This is how we know both Calvinism and eternal torment/torture doctrines are false.
English

@notaliberal9999 @ChrisPacia What do you mean the blue button always wins? You mean in the Twitter polls?
English

@ChrisPacia The issue with your analysis is that the blue button always wins so it is not the dominate strategy.
English

The pattern played out like this:
- Duh Red is the obvious choice. Nobody dies if everyone pushes red. There's not reason to push blue.
- Blue button pusher think they have a bullet proof rebuttal... Some confused or irrational people will push blue. Therefore the knee-jerk red reaction is naive and the true enlightened position is that that you must push blue.
Unfortunately, that turns out to be the naive position. Consider the following...

Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil
@mfacehero Red is not the rational choice unless you are OK with mass death.
English

@Clothed_Snake @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney Because you have 0% consequence to your life answering a twitter poll.
The fact you don't realize this is part of the problem.
English

@BasedEmbraced @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney I answered the question in the polls in a room by myself. Why would I change my answer when the only change is “for realsies this time.”
English

The problem with the red button

Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil
Red and blue button pushers: who's smarter? In a mostly-subscriber sample who took a brief verbal IQ test, the answer is... Blue pushers! If the whole population has an IQ of 100 with an SD of 15, their mean IQ would be 101.9, versus 97.0 for reds.
English

@Clothed_Snake @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney The way you present this: either you are confused; or your are deceiving yourself and others.
You mean to say: you are in a room where you must vote, and you know 100% that pushing the blue button will guarantee everybody lives?
Because that is not the scenario at all.
English

@BasedEmbraced @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney No, you have it wrong. Blue guarantees everybody lives. It’s only because red winning does everybody die. Everybody losing is red’s win state. Everybody living is blue’s win state.
English

@Clothed_Snake @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney It's nothing to do with selfishness.
It's simple probability.
It's extremely unlikely that any single vote will be the tie breaker, as a 50%+1 scenario is extremely unlikely.
English

@BasedEmbraced @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney I’m going to respond to this stages because I don’t pay for this app.
Your first point is you just defending your selfishness. Congrats.
English

@Clothed_Snake @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney LOL it has nothing to do with being an asshole or a sore loser. And it has nothing to do with me.
The plain fact is if you are in a room by yourself, pushing a button that very likely might kill you, you should prepare to die.
English

@BasedEmbraced @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney We see the poll results sure, but those poll results are done anonymously so saying “it’s different when it’s anonymous” is moot because the poll was anonymous.
Vaguely saying “be prepared to die” is not a point, it’s just you being an asshole because you’re a sore loser.
English

@Clothed_Snake @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney Here is the fundamental error you just made.
Blue does not guarantee nobody dies.
You seem to be ignoring the very possible outcome of 49% people dying because they all pushed the blue button.
English

@BasedEmbraced @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney Finally. You don’t want to save mankind because you’re admitting you’d rather save yourself. Blue button IS the savior button because it guarantees that nobody dies. Whereas red guarantees up to 49% will die.
English

In 8 billion people, 1 single person opting out (voting red) is not going to change the result.
You don't know how anyone else will vote.
Blue must hope that 4 billion other people also vote blue.
Red doesn't see that as viable, so its immoral to contribute yourself to the death count.
We have bias in that we see various poll results and discussions. But none of that matters when you are alone in a room and must press a button; what trying to determine what the best possible outcome.
Reds aren't trying to kill anyone.
Voting blue is a difficult choice in this scenario, and I don't blame anyone for opting out.
But if you do vote blue, be prepared to die because of your choice. It is the most likely outcome, and it means you simply wasted your life for no reason.
It's not a twitter poll where there are no consequences.
I think part of the problem is the blue button is framed as the "saviour button" which sounds great, who doesn't want to help save mankind? But it's not really that at all.
English

@BasedEmbraced @MarsAutomatic @JarrodCMaloney Red is not “simply opt out.” You are actively making it harder for the other side to win by voting against them.
English

@SerenadingVoid @JarrodCMaloney Yep. Blues are making massive assumptions about all involved.
Red are simply opting out of this insane scenario.
English

Not to point out the obvious, but the difference between 'everyone just' and 'half of everyone just' isn't as significant as you think.
You get the same problem, the bar you require is just different.
People aren't just going to behave how you want them to, and there a million and one reasons why.
Blue still needs everybody to vote blue, it is just a little bit forgiving.
English

Blue doesn't understand this. Blue is forced into thinking about winning, while Red is simply opt out.
Red wants everyone to survive but realizes adding more blue votes that likely won't reach the requisite 50% only increases the death count.
From red perspective:
If everyone else votes blue, cool.
If everyone else votes red, you survive.
The chance is minuscule that your single vote will flip the majority.
Blues need to remember you don't know how other people will vote and you have no control over how they vote.
English

@JarrodCMaloney There is no problem with the red button. Reds win no matter what, even if blue wins. As a red I would love if blue won.
English

@theGuffa @DivinelyDesined Yes atheists have trouble recognizing design and purpose
English
@DivinelyDesined Variation 9876285768 of "Look at the trees".
English

@DivinelyDesined IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT ANY SIMPLER VERSION OF THIS EVER EXISTED IN THE PAST BECAUSE THIS DUDE ON TWITTER HAS MADE A CLAIM!!!!!11
English

@RxOnlyFL There is only one option that makes sense 👍
English

@JaredMe52673212 @dead_baseball This is assuming you want to live.
(Some of the blue responses I have seen may indicate otherwise)
English

@dead_baseball Better yet let's say it is confirmed one has a guarenteed majority over the other no matter your vote but you dont know which one which do you vote?
English

@JaredMe52673212 @dead_baseball If one has a confirmed majority you always vote red.
Blue has majority - cool! Voting red doesn’t hurt.
Red has majority - vote red or you are dying.
BTW this shows why red is always mathematically “better”, except when it is the exact tiebreaker vote.
English

@GameM3574 @darwintojesus Na you don't understand evolution.
See random mutations cause the goat to get better at climbing. The climbing part is non-random, so evolution is non-random.
All the ones that fell died. So obviously they didn't reproduce. Voila, selection!
English

@BasedEmbraced @darwintojesus Wouldnt it fall and die before it became good at this?
English

@timwebbah @chaitinsgoose This shows the absurdity of the original hypothetical.
Well done.
English

@chaitinsgoose Correction:
There is an election. If candidate A wins with 100% nothing happens. If candidate B doesn’t win, he kills everyone who voted for him. Who are you voting for?
English

@John_Cyrano You seem to have this completely backwards.
English

Blue always works. Red only works if over half the people vote blue.
(The purpose of red is to kill people who vote blue)
Double A@WeebGodBtw
Blue only works if everyone does blue Red works regardless Majority of the worlds population wouldn’t have the moral clarity to vote blue, and if you can’t guarantee everyone will choose blue you should choose red
English

@LarsTheBadMan @darwintojesus ^^ the atheists are gaslighting themselves again
