@dead_baseball Autopilot, not FSD. Autopilot goes at the max speed you set for it, until a curve is detected - which has no effect if you disengage as you approach the curve...

Dan O'Dowd falsely claimed a Cybertruck "on FSD" tried to drive "straight off an overpass"... but the crash was actually caused by Humanpilot crashing it the old-fashioned way: speeding towards a sharp curve in a 15 mph zone and losing control!

@dead_baseball FSD wasn’t driving at all. It was the user helped by autopilot. These are two different features

If a high-profile accident happened at an intersection possibly linked to FSD, don't you think Tesla would update/double-check the pathing on that exact intersection pretty quickly after the accident?
I'm not saying the video is wrong, but I don't know if it proves anything.

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

@dead_baseball Autopilot is not FSD. She let glorified cruise control run her car into a wall because she thought it was something it wasn’t or she didn’t pay attention.

@dead_baseball Driver wasn't using FSD, they were using autopilot. And disengaged prior to the accident. When will the general public learn they are not the same thing?

Getting a lot of "umm, actually yellow is only the recommended safe speed and Cybertruck doesn't have FSD."
They advertise it as FSD in the Cybertruck owners manual and FSD was going 4x the recommended safe speed. How is that better?

@MissJilianne Autopilot ≠ FSD. The difference is even greater on the Cybertruck which lacks AutoSteer,
If drivers were flawless auto insurance wouldn't be mandatory, and FSD probably wouldn't even exist.

If Autopilot and Full Self-Driving were truly flawless, there wouldn’t be Cybertrucks crashing because a driver failed to intervene, there wouldn’t be a critical error to begin with.
Seems pretty clear to me.

@DhalgrenMarquis @TheCTStud @Br_McC13 We have one of those yellow 15 mph signs for a very sharp exit off the highway where I live. A high schooler thought it would be cool to go faster than that and put 4 people in the hospital.

@wobble_gb Elon Musk himself said it was disengaged 4 seconds before impact. This screenshot is 4.5 seconds before impact.
To travel a football field in 4 second you need to be going... 60 mph.

I normally don't bother armchair quarterbacking these situations. But watching the Tesla Stans come into the comments is funny. Elon said Autopilot (FSD?) was disengaged 4s before the impact which if you watch the video looks like it was going way too fast at that point. Am I missing something?
