Just don't get between momma and the cubs as I'm sure you know. When I lived in Hendersonville I hiked with the High Country Hikers and we came across Black bears fairly often deep in the woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We always froze and waited to make sure there were no cubs following along. It's a beautiful area, too bad Asheville turned into San Francisco.

This is me in 1958, age 5 helping my stepmom in the kitchen. She’s at the sink washing dishes and I’m right there “helping” by putting them away in the cabinet. No TV in the background, no distractions just the two of us working together after supper. Those were the days of real kitchens, real chores, and little kids learning. Who else has memories like this? The smell of dish soap, the clink of plates, and feeling so grown-up “helping” in the kitchen?

@Arkypatriot My mama taught me to set the table when I was about five. When Daddy wasn't flying (USAF) we all had dinner together and said the blessing before we ate. Then I helped clear the table. I miss the 50s. 💕❤️
