Rubio in Munich, Gad Saad, and the Crisis of Western Self-Confidence When Marco Rubio spoke in Munich, his message wasn’t radical—it was overdue. At the Munich Security Conference, Rubio warned that the West is undermining itself by abandoning its own civilizational foundations in the name of moral relativism, cultural guilt, and fear of appearing intolerant. That argument mirrors a core thesis in Suicidal Empathy by evolutionary psychologist Gad Saad: that Western societies are practicing a form of empathy so indiscriminate that it becomes self-destructive. What “Suicidal Empathy” Actually Means Saad’s point is often mischaracterized. He is not arguing against compassion. He is arguing against asymmetrical empathy—a moral framework in which Western societies extend tolerance to ideologies and movements that do not reciprocate those values. In practice, this shows up when: •Liberal democracies hesitate to enforce their own laws out of fear of being labeled intolerant •Cultural practices that conflict with Western legal norms are excused as “cultural differences” •Critics of illiberal ideas are silenced, while those ideas are shielded from scrutiny Rubio’s Munich speech echoed this concern: a civilization that refuses to defend its own principles will eventually lose them. Immigration vs. Ideology (The Distinction That Matters) Neither Rubio nor Saad argue that Muslims as people are the problem. The issue is ideology, not ethnicity or faith. Millions of Muslims live peacefully in Western countries, embrace pluralism, and thrive under liberal democratic systems. The conflict arises when political Islam—an ideology that rejects secular law, free speech, gender equality, and individual rights—is treated as beyond criticism. That ideological project does not seek integration; it seeks accommodation first, dominance later. History shows that civilizations do not collapse because they are conquered militarily. They collapse because they lose the confidence to defend their norms. The Western Blind Spot The West applies moral scrutiny unevenly: •Western history is endlessly interrogated and condemned •Non-Western illiberal systems are explained away or protected •Any discussion of boundaries is framed as bigotry This creates a paradox: the most tolerant societies become the least capable of self-preservation. Rubio’s warning in Munich wasn’t about fear—it was about clarity. Saad’s book provides the psychological explanation for why clarity has become so rare. How the West Actually Fixes This The solution is not authoritarianism or collective suspicion. It’s moral confidence: 1Enforce the law equally, without cultural exemptions 2Defend free speech, including criticism of religion and ideology 3Demand integration into civic values, not parallel societies 4Stop confusing tolerance with surrender Empathy without boundaries is not virtue—it’s negligence. Rubio named the geopolitical consequence. Saad diagnosed the psychological cause. Together, they point to the same truth: a civilization that won’t defend itself doesn’t need enemies—it will undo itself. @marcorubio @GadSaad #westernculture

The MAGA portion of the Republican Party is completely out of touch with young people. We need more America First leaders like James Fishback and Casey Putsch. Donald Trump, Lindsey Graham, Vivek Ramaswamy, Byron Donalds, and JD Vance are turning off young voters.

Republicans don’t need a primary in 2028. Vance-Rubio. That’s it. That’s the ticket.

The memo has clearly gone out that people don’t like Vance, so now they’re pushing Rubio as hard as they can, even though 5 minutes ago they considered him a Bush Establishment warmonger who loved amnesty? Can we just go back to real primaries instead of whatever this is?

On this President’s Day, I was just an infant when we had him, but I’ll fondly remember the only conservative president we’ve had in my entire life. #Tragic

The left aggressively polices speech and the opinions of its adherents resulting in a small variety of thought, in public at least. The right is actually very intellectually diverse. As a result the right has become the party that is actually open to argument and new ideas.

The classic racist trope disguised as a question. Democrats don't think anyone's "too stupid" we fight voter ID laws because they create barriers for low-income, elderly, and minority folks due to costs, access, and docs. It's GOP suppression, not stupidity. AND YOU KNOW IT. Get a new script. #VoterRights
