Had both kids unbeknownst to everyone she was organizing, as a good Catholic thought birth control and abortion were "sins" has since changed her position. Needed Chavez for organizing. Great leader but "evil" side to him.

Cesar Chavez’s Wikipedia page now says that genetic testing confirms that he was the father of two of Dolores Huerta’s children, citing the NY Times article.
But the article doesn’t quite say that.
It says that they confirmed that Chavez had four children out of wedlock, and then immediately after, it says that Huerta claims that two of those children were hers. The wording creates the impression that genetic testing backs up her allegations, but it doesn’t actually say that.
It seems intentionally confusing.

She absolutely would have known of the accusations. Shes saying she didnt to cover her ass and come out as a victim instead of an enabler.

They released it so close to his day to kill the man's legacy.
For the psychological impact of immediately canceling anything related to him.
Any Chavez related organizing would be seen as defending a pedo rapists.
No one can take that social risk. He becomes immediately toxic for this news cycle.
Had it come out any other time in the year, there wouldnt be the same social pressure. It would be just a tempory controversy.
His legacy might have even survived it.

There are so many questions asking why? Why would a 95 yr old woman come forward with this information and why would the democratic party be so eager to cancel this man who was so instrumental in the workers rights movement which the democrats say they champion? Why was this information released so close to the day commemorating Chavez?
