Every negative critique of PROJECT HAIL MARY I’ve seen is basically “I resent this movie’s amiable tone.” Which strikes me as yet more proof it’ll have pretty solid legs, since most people don’t want to be made miserable.

Okay I can write a little more. I really enjoyed this. Been a while since I saw such a good "hard sci fi" movie. Martian was fine, and I do enjoy Interstellar but it insists upon itself. PHM is carried by Gosling's performance, it's about what it means to do the right thing and has some unexpected reveals throughout. Also quite funny, kids will love it. Recommended
