@Becs @cath_nz That’s your other option. Smaller boats and line fishing. Very quickly becomes unsustainable as fish is already p spenny. Would basically be the same as banning commercial fishing, which is an option.

@Becs @cath_nz Theoretically will end up with less dead fish and less waste. Consumers will already value bigger fish and it’s hard for them to target so no incentive to purposely catch smaller fish

@Becs @cath_nz It’s a tricky one because the nature of commercial fishing is that they’re often dead when they throw them back, so you still end up with dead fish. At least in this case the fish is used and takes up part of their quota.
