After discovering that my venture out into nature broke my Batec, I am now in agony as fighting my way over gravel has caused me to pull my right hip out of its socket, making it tear the nerves to my right leg. Cue days of pain. Stuck in my flat during a heat wave. Argh.

@CarlBovisNature Love a LTT. Used to have them in my garden years ago but no more sadly.

@alexeades1 I have been watching the series “Cancer Detectives” and have just seen the one on Glioblastoma. They have made some amazing advances in this area. It is a very moving programme. Hard watch.

Charlotte’s Brain Tumour Journey
18.2.1997 – 24.2.2016
Diagnosis to death: 951 days
10 Years ago today 8.12.2015
At The Marsden for Charlotte’s MRI and ultrasound.
She had the ultrasound at 2.30pm, followed by the MRI at 3.45pm.
We were hoping her sudden weight gain was simply fluid retention, something that could be eased with diuretics.
But it isn’t.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
Her consultant now believes the tumour may be affecting the hypothalamus. We know that probably points to something far worse.
To make it harder, her previous scans still haven’t been uploaded, so there is nothing to compare today’s results with.
He promised he’ll phone us tomorrow as soon as he knows more.
Waiting… hoping… fearing.

Charlotte was very distressed that her double vision in her left eye still isn’t improving. Added to this, she is worried that despite stopping steroids three weeks ago, her weight hasn’t gone down her abdomen just keeps getting larger. She spoke to her consultant today, and he tried to reassure her.
They will take a urine sample to check for protein, run blood tests for kidney function and molecular biology, and an abdominal ultrasound has been booked as she appears to be retaining a significant amount of fluid. Her next MRI is due within the week, and an eye appointment has been arranged at Epsom Hospital.
Watching her carry so much fear in an 18-year-old body never gets easier.

There are people who have been arbitrarily detained abroad for exercising their basic human rights. Urge the Prime Minister to protect UK nationals arbitrarily detained abroad and pave the path for their freedom now. amnesty.org.uk/actions/protec…
