And they are up…please do pop down for a stroll along the Bathampton Meadow path to enjoy Elm Class’s poems 🌳 We hope to evoke thought and discussion about our planet’s plastic pollution crisis.

In Willow we worked on the book The Patchwork Quilt for Book Week. We made paper versions of patchwork quilts and wrote stories

Elm and Hazel kicked off their Inspire Day with a litter pick around the local community. They were shocked by the amount of rubbish they collect but proud of the humility they showed this morning.

@BatheastonPri Fantastic Elm and Hazel - I bet your letters were amazing and Mr Sunak and the supermarkets will be given something to think about!

Learning about our planet's plastic pollution problems, Elm and Hazel were inspired to write letters to our Prime Minister and a range of supermarkets to ask them to stop selling fruit and vegetables in unnecessary plastic. It is a heavy load for the post office this evening!

Growing up in the northwest of England, all parents would complain about their kids leaving lights on by saying 'It's like Blackpool illuminations in here' so how on earth did they express this down south?

@HannahAlOthman I run a school netball team. Boys and girls play. The boys are brilliant. We also run girls football clubs and have always had boys and girls in both our netball and football teams - for the last 20 years. All children play all sport in primary PE too

It’s great that girls play football at school now, but true equality will only be achieved when boys are forced to play netball, the most boring sport of all.

Maple class then enjoyed tasting their delicious meal! The majority of the class loved the taste and look forward to cooking them again in the summer with the recipe booklet Georgie has made for them!

@BatheastonPri Wow we will look out for one of those (however I think Willow may have been a bit too noisy!) We have submitted our results to RSPB

We’re going on a bird hunt! In Willow we are doing some citizen science. We have counted the birds we have seen in Mike’s Meadow for the RSPBs Great Schools Bird Watch. We saw a lot of jackdaws, magpies, a lovely robin and a blackbird.

In history, Elm Class have been learning about Frida Kahlo's life and art work. We loved drawing our self portraits inspired by her creativity and bold use colour!

Today Cherry Class are travelling back in time to the 1930's to see how childhood was different. We are only playing games and playing with toys that would have been played in the 1930's. We have been skipping, doing hopscotch, skittles, marbles, LEGO, drawing and much more.

On Thursday Willow edited their stories. We worked together to find our mistakes and correct them. We read our stories aloud to a friend.
