The Jukebox in Peoria, a legendary club I knew I had to play sits in an industrial drab section of a bleak city. On a wall a painting of home-town hero Pryor and also the one-time home of the last original voice in stand-up comedy, Sam Kinison. Next door a squat brick strip club.

@normmacdonald I agree that early, clean Pryor was a Cosby imitator. Later Pryor was original and awesome. Pryor wins hand down. (Bias: I’m from Peoria, Illinois)
