I had a phone conversation today with a very nice young chap from Pakistan. This is how it went:
"Hello, how are you today?"
"I'm very well thank you for asking, how are you and more to the point, WHO are you?"
"Madam, my name is Sanjit, and I'm calling you from Microsoft.”
"Microsoft, is that a city in Pakistan?”
" No Madam, MICROSOFT, the computer company. I'm calling to tell you that we have found a problem with your computer.”
"REALLY, that's quite concerning.”
"Yes Madam, it can become very serious indeed but thankfully I will be able to fix it for you.”
"No, I meant it's very concerning because I don't HAVE a computer.”
“You don't?"
“No.”
"Ahh, it must be a problem on your laptop Madam.”
"Don't have one.”
"Ipad?"
"Nope.”
"Tablet?"
"I have none of those things. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a telephone.”
After a few seconds of silence he said "Madam, you are lying to me now!"
I said "Well, you started it!!" and put the phone down.

@MahyarTousi I think we need a new law that protects people who have chosen to leave their cult or religious group , who are threatened with violence or death. I’m not lethally trained, however a law that states that the “law of the land” overrides religious/cult laws regarding eg apostasy.

I am at a loss for words. Every time black people approach her in other countries that she feels is way beneath her, she does the same thing. Going to a hospital & reading to children is a lovely thing to do.
But there’s something uncomfortable, making the children pose for photographs, signing autographs & taking not just a photographer, but a cameraman as well. It’s rather unsettling.
When I see Sophie, DOE or Catherine Princess of Wales attend hospitals, they are normally there to open a wing, a new department and yes they meet with patients and families. But the children are sick so don’t hug, if they do it’s because the children have asked to NOT the other way around.
When Johnny Depp went to a hospital he went as his character Captain Jack Sparrow and it was an amazing experience for the children and a special keepsake.
I think this is about Meghan promoting Meghan and not about wanting to cheer children up out of the goodness of her heart. Compassion in action with a camera crew, using children as props for her image. 👎🏼

If Kate Middleton is as well as she looks in this video where she is practically skipping whole on sick leave, this makes her complicit in creating a circus and chaos around her that has got her international interest but which she could have squashed.

With pharmacists starting to deliver #PharmacyFirst PGDs, it should be noted that the government has been paving the way for these to be done by pharmacy technicians instead. Each Pharmacy First PGD states that it can be carried out by any “Registered healthcare professional listed in the legislation as able to practice under Patient Group Directions.” The government consulted recently on plans to allow pharmacy technicians to deliver PGDs; if this goes ahead, it will be said that the description within the Pharmacy First PGDs of the persons able to deliver them includes pharmacy technicians. Notably, the RPS in its consultation response supported pharmacy technicians delivering PGDs, and the proposition received only late, low-key challenge from elsewhere. Alongside changes to supervision law, this is an example of “role substitution”, whereby pharmacists are replaced by pharmacy technicians, in this case in their clinical and supervisory roles, as proposed here - see paras 3.2 and 6.1 lasepharmacy.hee.nhs.uk/dyn/_assets/_f…. In medicine, doctors are opposing substitution by PAs on public safety grounds. In pharmacy, some pharmacists support their own role substitution, and initiatives which would lead to it. The same is encouraged by certain organisations which are meant to represent pharmacists. There is a dearth of leadership in the representation of pharmacists. There is also a dearth of public information on patient safety in pharmacy by which to evaluate the impact of any proposed or actual change.
