I have decided the time has come to close this account. Twitter is not a space that is good for my own mental health or others. I no longer want to be part of a conversation on this platform. I will continue to post on my Instagram account and very much hope to see you there

@SpotifyUK my daughter's college isn't currently on the accredited list. Can you look into this please and make my music-loving teen very happy? It's Berkshire College of Agriculture. 🤞

@MsJoBillington I have distributed to the sencos I work with and at least one local school is popping it in their newsletter as a result. Got a family worker sending it to prospective families too. A brilliant opportunity. 😊

@specialsciteach @naomicfisher Not until you have exhausted the academy complaints can you go to Ofsted and by then you hve been worn down to the bone and that's what they rely on.

@naomicfisher My understanding is that the complaint goes to the DfE. Or to Ofsted. It's ridiculous, and completely inequitable when maintained schools can still be challenged by the LA.

Maybe everyone else knew this already, but a parent has just told me that there is no way to challenge the policies of a multi-academy trust [MAT]. They are not accountable to the LA or anyone else. If a parent is concerned about excessive use of isolation or detention and the effect this is having on their child, then there is no one to complain to outside the trust. Is this really the case and if so, @UKLabour, @bphillipsonMP why is it not an immediate priority to change this?

@naomicfisher We went to a Level 3 complaint with my child's academy and in a meeting with us the Head said exactly that. Our buck stopped with a board of governors and their legal representative. We told the LA what the head said and they just said that was disappointing.

When is worry "mild"? When does mild worry become a bigger worry? When does worry become anxiety? When is it an anxiety disorder? When do the tears turn to tics? When does the tummy ache turn into self harm? It was three months for my daughter. Don't trivialise worry.
