Thesis: The Upcoming Generational Bid on AI Art AI tokens will generate billions in wealth this cycle. We are seeing this already with the ascent of AI memes, agents, and platforms like Virtuals and ai16Z. We are in the stretch of the cycle where new and shiny is king and fungibles reign supreme. But as the category becomes increasingly saturated, some of this newfound wealth will want to park into longer-term assets. The sexiness of new will fade vs. the premium of time (lindy), trust, and familiarity. Some of this wealth will flow into usual suspect IRL assets like real estate and equities. It will also flow into art. Wealthy people buy art. This is a fundamental fact that isn't changing anytime soon. What *is* changing is that wealthy people i.e. the world's largest capital allocators and collectors will increasingly be internet-native zoomers. They GET digital ownership. It is *more* natural for them than physical ownership. Digital art is easier to discover, easier to secure, easier to transfer, easier to authenticate, and easier to use for social signaling and status. They will 100% buy digital art. And a lot of it will be AI, given that many of these ultra-rich zoomers will have made their wealth from...AI. This includes both crypto natives getting rich from AI tokens as well as non-crypto AI technologists and founders. I've yet to see a first-principles-based timeline where AI art doesn't grow massively in value. To be clear, the great majority of AI art will have little, if any, market value. Given the cheapness of generating images via AI, there will be a profound premium on AI artists that have scarcity, provenance, and narrative. This is why Botto is my highest conviction AI artist. As the world's first decentralized autonomous artist (and the first millionaire AI!) with a consistent minting schedule for over three years, it is unrivaled in narrative and provenance. It has also emerged as the top-selling artist on the SuperRare primary in the last year. That coupled with its recent Sotheby's success means that it also has momentum, and there is nothing bigger than momentum in a bull market. The rest will follow. Not all of them, but enough to drive hundreds of millions into AI art in the coming 12-18 months and billions in the coming decade. I believe that AI art is on the brink of a generational repricing event. It's less a question of if, and more a question of how well-positioned you are for this.

This means focusing on the art, refining strategies, doing only deliberate releases, and steering clear of market-centric conversations Collectors, having faced disappointments for a very long time, shouldn't bear the burden alone. They've supported the space generously, often at great cost. Now, the onus is on the creative community to foster an environment that merits renewed collector engagement As a long-standing participant, I'm stepping back until I see these essential shifts. It's an opportunity for artists to lead by example and rebuild trust
