Clueless is a perfect film. I just had a flashback to the visceral reaction my tween body had in the cinema when Alicia Silverstone appeared on screen for the first time. But it’s also amazing beyond that

I think #MetalLords is a very safe take on metal, even for a teen movie. #WeAreLadyParts is a much take, (but for Punk.) Still, Metal Lords does hit the best side of metal, the voice for people who are angry and lonely and strange, that’s something.

@lumber_pile I like it because I think good faith attempt to make something silly-fun, where anyone can see people like themselves in fancy clothes and laugh at the the accents. But YMMV

@lumber_pile To be fair, everything he says about the show is true. It’s an excuse to indulge in a aesthetic while sidestepping the ugly history of racism, but also double-downing of the class the era. Which is 100% true

The best thing about Bridgerton is watching it with @lumber_pile in the room. He starts out knowing, “People can like silly things.” By the end of the episode, there’s a gleam of madness in this eyes and keeps clutching his head. It’s a lot of fun for me!
