In last night’s victory over North Montgomery in the Sugar Creek Classic, Boys Basketball Coach David Pierce earned his 170th victory. Coach Pierce passed Paul Curtis to become the winningest basketball coach in school history. Quite a feat for a program spanning 125 seasons.

UW-River Falls winning the Stagg Bowl is one of the most improbable turnarounds in recent college football memory. The Falcons hadn’t even made the D3 playoffs since 1996.
Now, head coach Matt Walker brings a national championship to River Falls for the first time ever.

Matt Walker, now in year 15 as head coach, won just 3 games TOTAL in his first three seasons.

1991 grad Brian Johnson is Asst. Athletic Director for their opponent North Central College. His son, Jalen Johnson, is a wide receiver on the Cardinals' team. Finally, one of the game's officials this evening will be 2011 CHS grad, Nick Sommer. Always an Athenian!!
